Realtor Elle Seybold and home builder, Rob Gibbs of Arete Homes of Santa Fe talk about the pros and cons of choosing radiant vs. forced-air heating.

Both options are good, says Rob. With radiant heat you have controlled, quiet, and zoned areas and–except for newer more complicated systems, radiant doesn’t provide cooling. Set it and forget it, but having radiant heat requires some planning as your home will not heat for up to 24-48 hours before temps to stabilize.

Forced air systems with ducts systems do provide both heating and cooling–good for those who can’t live without air conditioning.
